In a significant development, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for international travelers arriving in India. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a revised set of guidelines which include mandatory self-declaration forms, health screening protocols, and quarantine measures for passengers arriving from abroad. The move comes in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and aims to strengthen the country’s efforts to curb the spread of the virus. According to the new guidelines, all international passengers will have to submit self-declaration forms on the online Air Suvidha portal before their scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers will have to provide a negative RT-PCR test report conducted within 72 hours of departure. Upon arrival in India, passengers will undergo thermal screening and those found symptomatic will be required to undergo testing. Furthermore, passengers arriving from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East will have to undergo seven days of institutional quarantine followed by seven days of home quarantine. In contrast, passengers arriving from other countries will have the option of undergoing seven days of home quarantine. The new guidelines are set to be implemented from February 22, 2021, and will be applicable until further notice. Travelers are advised to stay updated on the latest information and comply with the guidelines to ensure a smooth entry into India.
