Crypto Casinos Generate $81B in 2024 Despite Restrictions, Stake Rivals Traditional Platforms, Users Access Sites Illegally

Crypto casinos saw a significant rise in revenue in 2024, surpassing $81 billion, despite facing restrictions in key markets. A recent report, based on data from Yield Sec, revealed that the gross gaming revenue (GGR) from bets paid in crypto reached $81.4 billion in 2024. This growth represents a five-fold increase since 2022, even as platforms are blocked in countries like the US, China, UK, and EU. One leading platform, Stake, reported a GGR of $4.7 billion in 2024, up 80% from 2022, putting it in competition with major gambling groups like Entain and Flutter. Stake offers a variety of traditional casino games and sports betting options, facilitating transactions in cryptocurrencies directly to users’ wallets. Despite restrictions, users access these platforms through VPNs, bypassing geo-blocking measures. Online tutorials and guides teach individuals how to circumvent restrictions, enabling them to gamble using crypto assets. Social media platforms have also seen the sale of pre-verified crypto casino accounts for as low as $10, attracting buyers looking to engage in online gambling. The rise of crypto casinos continues to challenge traditional gambling platforms, highlighting the growing popularity of cryptocurrency in the betting industry.
