The Indian government has recently announced new guidelines for international travelers arriving in India amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, all travelers must submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before their scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers must upload a negative RT-PCR test report conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Upon arrival, passengers will undergo thermal screening and those found symptomatic will be required to undergo testing at the airport. Travelers who test positive will be isolated in designated facilities. It is mandatory for all passengers to download the Aarogya Setu app on their mobile devices. Moreover, passengers coming from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East must undergo a self-paid confirmatory molecular test upon arrival at the airport. Airlines must ensure that all passengers comply with these guidelines before boarding. Failure to adhere to the protocols will result in penalties, including deportation and suspension of the airline’s license. These measures have been put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of the public. Travelers are advised to stay updated on the latest guidelines and regulations to avoid any inconvenience during their journey to India.
