In response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, India has decided to take several diplomatic and security measures. One of the key actions taken is the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan. Additionally, the Integrated Checkpost Attari will be closed as part of the response. Pakistani nationals will no longer be eligible for SAARC visa exemptions. Furthermore, defence advisors stationed at the Pakistani high commission have been declared persona non grata. As a reciprocal measure, India will also withdraw its advisors from Islamabad. The government has instructed security forces to maintain a high level of vigilance in the wake of the attack. These decisions come in the aftermath of the deadly terrorist incident and are aimed at sending a strong message to Pakistan regarding India’s response to such acts of violence. The measures taken are part of India’s efforts to address security concerns and ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens.
