In a recent update, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for international travelers arriving in India. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a revised set of guidelines that include mandatory COVID-19 testing and quarantine measures for all international travelers. According to the new rules, travelers are required to submit a self-declaration form on the online portal www.newdelhiairport.in at least 72 hours before the scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers must upload a negative RT-PCR test result conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Upon arrival in India, passengers will undergo thermal screening and those found symptomatic will be required to undergo RT-PCR testing at the airport. Travelers who test positive will be isolated either at home or in a healthcare facility. The guidelines also state that passengers arriving from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East will have to undergo mandatory institutional quarantine for 14 days, followed by seven days of home quarantine. These new guidelines aim to curb the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of both travelers and the general public. It is essential for all international travelers to adhere to these regulations to prevent the further transmission of the virus. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare continues to monitor the situation closely and may issue further updates as needed.
