US President Donald Trump’s memecoin team has refuted rumors circulating on social media that holders of the Official Trump (TRUMP) token need a minimum of $300,000 to attend a forthcoming dinner with the president. The team made an official clarification on April 25 through the Trump memecoin X account, stating that there is no such financial requirement to participate in the event featuring the US president. The rumor originated from observations made by community members using the Solana blockchain explorer, which displayed the holdings on the token’s contract address. As of now, the explorer indicates that the 220th-largest holder possesses 33,114 TRUMP tokens valued at over $400,000. However, the memecoin team emphasized that the explorer does not accurately reflect their selection criteria. They explained that individuals have been wrongly referencing the 220th position on the block explorer, which includes locked tokens, exchanges, market makers, and non-participating holders. Instead, the team advised focusing solely on the leaderboard for accurate information. A recent update from the Trump Coin team unveiled the leaderboard on April 23, disclosing the wallet addresses of the leading token holders eligible for the dinner event. The final list of guests is yet to be finalized, with all potential attendees required to undergo a background check and comply with Know Your Customer regulations. The team disclosed that winners would be chosen based on time-weighted holdings, where the duration of holding and the quantity of tokens held are taken into account. The leaderboard currently showcases a top holder with over 1.1 million tokens valued at $14.6 million and a time-weighted score exceeding 686,000. Even wallet addresses with zero current TRUMP holdings remain eligible for the dinner, likely due to their past token retention.
