Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has attracted more than 7.65 crore subscribers, amassing a fund of Rs 45,974.67 crore by April. Launched in 2015 to cater to the retirement needs of unorganised workers, the scheme has witnessed a surge in participation from women, who now make up approximately 48 per cent of the subscribers. Administered by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), APY provides fixed monthly pensions and strives towards achieving “Pension for All.” This pension scheme has gained significant traction in India, with a substantial number of individuals opting for it to secure their financial future post-retirement.
