The Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has successfully attracted more than 7.65 crore subscribers in India, amassing a substantial corpus of Rs 45,974.67 crore as of April. Launched in 2015 to cater to the retirement needs of unorganised workers, the scheme is witnessing a growing number of women participants, accounting for approximately 48 per cent of all subscribers. APY guarantees fixed monthly pensions and is managed by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), with the overarching objective of ensuring “Pension for All.” This initiative has gained considerable traction and is playing a crucial role in promoting financial security and stability among India’s workforce.
