Jordanian border guards shot and killed Thomas Gabriel Pereira from Kerala as he tried to sneak into Israel. Pereira, misguided by an agency offering Israeli work visas, ventured with three companions on tourist visas. His demise came to light when a relative, Edison, got deported by Jordan. Kerala officials are aiding the family in bringing back Pereira’s body.
