Ahmedabad’s AHNA to halt cashless facilities for three firms starting April.

Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) is set to suspend the cashless facilities provided by three firms – Paytm, PhonePe, and Google Pay – from April. The decision was made by the Ahmedabad Janmarg Ltd (AJL) board, which operates the AMTS buses in the city. This move comes as a result of the firms not complying with the terms and conditions set by the AMTS for the cashless facilities. Users who relied on these digital payment options will now have to switch back to using cash for their bus fares. The decision is likely to inconvenience many passengers who had embraced the convenience of cashless transactions. The AMTS has advised passengers to be prepared for the change and ensure they have sufficient cash on hand for their bus travels. It remains to be seen how this decision will impact the daily commuters in Ahmedabad and whether alternative digital payment solutions will be introduced in the future.
