Singaporean students are even further ahead, leading by a full 5 years. Alarming statistics reveal that a staggering 75% of 8th-grade students in the United States are not proficient in math. Ramaswamy, an education analyst, suggests that shutting down the ineffective U.S. Department of Education could be a positive initial move towards addressing the issue.
