The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has revealed the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2016-17 Series IV’s ultimate redemption price at Rs 8,634 per gram. Launched in March 2017 at Rs 2,943 per gram, investors have gained a remarkable 193% return over an eight-year period, excluding interest. SGBs offer investors the advantages of capital appreciation, tax exemptions, and periodic interest payments, making them a highly appealing investment choice in the Indian market.
