The Maharashtra Cyber department has revealed that over 140 online posts with objectionable content related to the recent Nagpur violence have been identified. Notices have been sent out for the removal of such content and to identify the users responsible. Authorities are cautioning the public against sharing unverified or provocative material on social media platforms. In the aftermath of the violence, a total of 69 individuals, including political figures, have been apprehended. The turmoil resulted in injuries to 33 police officers, a situation exacerbated by rumors surrounding VHP-led protests. The Cyber Cell is actively monitoring online activities to prevent the spread of misinformation and incendiary content. It is imperative for netizens to exercise caution and refrain from sharing content that may fuel further unrest or violence in the region.
