CM Uttam urges Centre to release Rs 1.8K crore owed for Telangana rice pending for a decade.

Telangana’s Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, along with PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, have urged the central government to release the pending funds of Rs 1.8k crore for the procurement of rice in the state. The funds have been pending for the past 10 years, causing financial strain on the state’s resources. The plea was made to Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Piyush Goyal, during a meeting in Delhi. CM Rao emphasized the importance of releasing the funds to support the state’s efforts in procuring rice from farmers. The pending amount has accumulated over the years and is crucial for the state’s food security and welfare programs. Both leaders stressed the urgency of releasing the funds to ensure smooth procurement operations in the upcoming Kharif season. The central government’s support in releasing the funds will significantly benefit the farmers and strengthen the state’s agricultural sector. The timely release of the pending funds will also aid in maintaining the stability of food prices and ensure food security in Telangana. The leaders are hopeful that the central government will consider their request and expedite the release of the long-overdue funds for the state’s rice procurement.
