The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has detained Sandalwood actor Ranya Rao at the Kempegowda International Airport in a gold smuggling case, seizing almost 15kg of gold. Subsequent searches at her residence revealed gold ornaments and cash, further implicating her in the smuggling operation. Authorities are currently investigating Ranya’s alleged links to a larger smuggling syndicate. Ranya’s father, DGP Rao, has denied any knowledge of her illegal activities. A decision on her bail plea is still pending as the investigation unfolds.
