The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence recently apprehended Sandalwood actress Ranya Rao at Kempegowda International Airport in India for her alleged involvement in gold smuggling. Approximately 15kg of gold was confiscated during the operation. Subsequent searches conducted at her residence led to the discovery of additional gold ornaments and cash. Authorities are currently probing Ranya’s suspected links to a larger smuggling syndicate. Ranya’s father, DGP Rao, has denied any knowledge of her illicit activities. The decision on her bail application is still pending as the investigation unfolds.
