In a recent development, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for foreign travelers entering the country. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a statement detailing the updated protocols that will be followed to curb the spread of COVID-19. According to the guidelines, all international passengers must submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before their scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers must upload a negative RT-PCR test report conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Upon arrival in India, passengers will undergo thermal screening and those found symptomatic will be required to undergo testing at the airport. Furthermore, travelers from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East will be subject to mandatory institutional quarantine for 14 days at their own expense. The new guidelines come in the wake of rising concerns over new variants of the coronavirus and aim to strengthen India’s efforts in controlling the spread of the virus. The government has been taking proactive measures to combat the pandemic and ensure the safety of its citizens. These latest regulations underscore the importance of stringent protocols to prevent the resurgence of COVID-19 in the country. Foreign travelers are advised to stay updated on the evolving guidelines and comply with the necessary requirements to facilitate a smooth entry into India.
