Rupee plunges to 87.33 against dollar in biggest drop in two weeks amid global economic worries and market sell-offs.

The Indian rupee experienced a significant decline against the US dollar, marking its most substantial one-day drop in a fortnight, as it closed at 87.33 due to increased demand for the dollar and the Chinese yuan’s depreciation. Although several banks intervened by selling dollars to support the rupee, it continued to face pressure from the selling of shares in the domestic stock market and worries about the global economy.
