In a tragic incident in Sircilla town, Telangana, a police officer identified as Thota Gangaram lost his life after falling into a lift shaft as a result of a mechanical failure. Gangaram, serving as the commandant of the 17th Police Battalion, met with the unfortunate accident when he mistakenly opened the grill doors assuming the lift had arrived, leading to his fall into the shaft. His body was later recovered from the lift shaft by personnel from the fire department. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of regular maintenance and inspection of elevators to prevent such tragic accidents.
