Gold ETF Inflows Fell 47% in February Despite Record Prices; UTI Gold ETF Leads with 3.70% Returns

Gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) in India witnessed a significant decline in inflows during February, dropping by 47.22% to Rs 1,979 crore, despite soaring gold prices. This decrease is attributed to profit-taking by investors who capitalized on opportunities in the equity market. However, compared to the same period last year, inflows still registered an impressive growth of 99%. Among the various Gold ETFs, UTI Gold ETF emerged as the leader with 3.70% returns. Gold continues to be a crucial component of investment portfolios, serving as a diversifier in the face of global economic uncertainties. The Assets Under Management (AUM) for Gold ETFs rose by 7% to reach Rs 55,677 crore, indicating sustained investor interest in this asset class.
