RTO inspector and aide nabbed accepting $1K bribe in Ahmedabad crackdown.

An RTO inspector and his aide were apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Ahmedabad for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,000. The incident took place during a routine inspection when the inspector and his aide demanded the bribe from a truck driver to overlook a violation. The driver immediately reported the incident to the ACB, who set up a trap and caught the officials red-handed while accepting the bribe. The accused were booked under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The ACB has been cracking down on corruption in government departments and has urged citizens to report any such incidents promptly. Bribery and corruption continue to be persistent issues in India, and law enforcement agencies are working diligently to eradicate this malpractice.
