Renowned Hindi writer Vinod Kumar Shukla has been honored with the 59th Jnanpith Award, making him the first author from Chhattisgarh to receive this prestigious accolade. Shukla, 88, is recognized for his notable works such as ‘Naukar Ki Kameez’ and ‘Deewar Mein Ek Khirkee Rahati Thi’. The Jnanpith Award, which includes a cash prize of Rs 11 lakh and a Saraswati bronze statue, is a highly respected literary award in India. This recognition highlights Shukla’s significant contribution to Hindi literature and showcases his talent as a prolific writer.
