Indian Rupee Gains Strength, Closes at 85.67 Against Dollar in 7th Consecutive Rise; Erases 2025 Losses

The Indian rupee extended its winning streak for the seventh consecutive session, wrapping up at 85.67 versus the US dollar. This upward trend was supported by positive domestic equity movements, foreign investments flowing into the country, and a decline in crude oil prices, managing to offset all losses incurred in 2025. The rupee saw a remarkable appreciation of 154 paise, with strong backing from foreign banks and exporters. In line with this, the BSE Sensex experienced a notable surge of 1.40%, while the Nifty also made significant gains, climbing 1.32%. This recent performance indicates a positive outlook for the Indian currency and stock market, with hopes of continued growth in the upcoming sessions.
