The United States has initiated measures to tackle the issue of bots obstructing visa interview slots in India, leading to applicants resorting to agents who charge as much as Rs 35,000 for securing timely appointments. The US embassy has taken action by canceling approximately 2,000 appointments that were made by bots and has suspended the scheduling privileges of the related accounts in a bid to curb fraudulent activities. The crackdown on these unauthorized practices aims to ensure a fair and transparent process for individuals applying for US visas in India.
