In a recent development, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for international travelers arriving in the country. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a list of dos and don’ts for travelers in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. According to the guidelines, travelers must submit a self-declaration form on the online portal www.newdelhiairport.in at least 72 hours before the scheduled travel. They are also required to upload a negative RT-PCR test report on the portal. Additionally, passengers arriving from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East must undergo a self-paid confirmatory molecular test at the airport. Travelers who test positive will be isolated in an institutional facility for further evaluation. The guidelines also state that travelers must adhere to all health protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and sanitizing hands regularly. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in penalties as per the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. These new guidelines aim to ensure the safety and well-being of both travelers and the general public. It is advised that all international travelers familiarize themselves with these guidelines before planning their journey to India.
