India is on track to significantly increase its solar PV module manufacturing capacity, with a target of reaching 125 GW by 2030, up from the current 80 GW. This growth will also see solar cell capacity rising to 40 GW. Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Coal, Mines, and Parliamentary Affairs, emphasized the importance of local manufacturing and the incentives provided by the government to boost the renewable energy sector. India’s ambitious goal is to double its renewable energy capacity by 2030, positioning the country as a global leader in sustainable energy. This expansion will not only contribute to a cleaner environment but also improve connectivity to more villages, ensuring that the benefits of renewable energy reach all corners of the country.
