India is poised to significantly increase its solar PV module manufacturing capacity, with projections indicating a rise to 125 GW by 2030 from the current 80 GW. This growth is in line with the country’s ambitious goal of doubling its renewable energy capacity by the end of the decade. Minister Pralhad Joshi emphasized the importance of local manufacturing and government incentives in driving this expansion. Additionally, India aims to establish itself as a global leader in sustainable energy, with plans to boost solar cell capacity to 40 GW. The increased connectivity will also bring renewable energy to more villages across the country, further solidifying India’s commitment to a greener future.
