Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has defended the ban on offering namaz on public roads by pointing to the organized conduct of the Maha Kumbh as an example. Adityanath highlighted the significance of discipline, underscoring that 66 crore devotees participated in the Maha Kumbh without any untoward incidents. This comes in the wake of the Meerut police’s instructions to confine Eid namaz to specified locations, accompanied by increased security measures. The move is part of efforts to ensure public safety and maintain order during religious gatherings in Uttar Pradesh.
