Tufts University demands release of detained student linked to Hamas; disputes allegations for campus safety concerns.

Tufts University is urging the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to free Rumeysa Ozturk, a graduate student who was detained due to alleged ties to Hamas. Despite her visa being revoked, Ozturk was in good academic standing. The university has refuted the accusations and is worried about the repercussions on campus security. Ozturk is presently held in a Louisiana detention facility.
