In the fiscal year 2023-2024, India recorded total exports of gems and jewellery amounting to $32.85 billion, out of which $9.95 billion worth of exports were directed towards the US alone. This accounted for a substantial 30.29% of the sector’s total exports. The strong demand for Indian gems and jewellery in the US market highlights the sector’s importance and the need for continued focus on meeting international standards and preferences to maintain and further expand market share.
