Approximately 20,000 teachers in Gujarat have been fined Rs 3.75 crore over the past five years for marking errors in exam papers. Common mistakes such as incorrect totalling and transcription errors have been reported. Despite undergoing annual training, some teachers have continued to make the same errors in consecutive years, leading to heightened oversight by senior officials.
