Approximately 20,000 teachers in Gujarat have been fined a total of Rs 3.75 crore in the last five years due to marking errors in exam papers, as reported by Times of India. The errors mainly consist of inaccurate totalling and transcription mistakes. Even after receiving annual training sessions, some teachers have been found to commit the same errors in multiple years, leading to heightened supervision by senior authorities.
