The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has initiated substantial layoffs, commencing with the Office of Civil Rights and Compliance. Approximately 20,000 workers may face repercussions as a result of the Trump administration’s initiative to downsize the federal workforce and enhance productivity. Several employees have been presented with buyout options through a ‘deferred resignation program’.
