Two women hailing from Punjab were recently saved from an interstate sex trafficking operation in Nagpur. The victims admitted that they had been coerced into the illicit trade in order to gather funds for migrating to Canada, either for themselves or their family members. The authorities were taken aback by the level of desperation exhibited by the women. It was revealed that there was a network of immigration agents operating in various northern Indian cities who were complicit in the trafficking scheme.
