The Indian government recently announced new guidelines for international arrivals in the country, effective from February 22, 2021. As per the guidelines, all international passengers must submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before the scheduled travel, upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test report, and also undergo self-monitoring of their health for 14 days. Additionally, passengers arriving from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East will have to undergo mandatory self-paid confirmatory molecular tests upon arrival at the airport. This decision comes amid concerns over new variants of the coronavirus spreading in various parts of the world. The guidelines also state that travelers from the United Kingdom, Brazil, and South Africa will need to undergo mandatory quarantine for 7 days, even if they test negative on arrival. The Indian government has been taking stringent measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country and ensure the safety of its citizens. These new guidelines aim to further strengthen the existing protocols and curb the transmission of the virus through international travel. Passengers are advised to stay updated on the latest guidelines and follow all necessary protocols to help contain the spread of COVID-19.
