BJP slams Rahul Gandhi for calling Indian Constitution ‘thousands of years old’; Accuses him of disrespect towards Ambedkar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent remarks claiming that the Indian Constitution is “thousands of years old.” Criticizing Gandhi for his statement, BJP leaders emphasized that the Constitution was actually drafted in 1949 and came into effect in 1950. They accused Gandhi of displaying ignorance and disrespect towards Babasaheb Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. BJP further alleged that the Congress party seemed confused and at a loss for words following Gandhi’s controversial comments. The criticism from BJP comes in the midst of ongoing political tensions between the two major parties in India.
