Mohammed Rafi, a madrasa teacher, has been sentenced to 187 years in prison by a special court in Taliparamba, India. The court convicted him of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old student multiple times during the Covid-19 lockdown. Rafi, who also received a fine of Rs 9.10 lakh, had a history of similar crimes. The police initiated a case against him after the girl came forward with her revelation.
