India’s Cabinet approves Rs 64,000 crore Rafale-Marine deal with France for 26 fighter jets for INS Vikrant.

The Cabinet Committee on Security in India has given the green light to a significant deal worth almost Rs 64,000 crore with France for the acquisition of 26 Rafale-Marine fighter jets designated for the INS Vikrant aircraft carrier. The deal comprises 22 single-seat aircraft and four twin-seat trainers, complete with weapons systems and logistical support. It is anticipated that the delivery of the Rafale-Marine jets will take place within a timeframe ranging from 37 to 65 months. This agreement marks a crucial step in enhancing India’s defense capabilities and strengthening its strategic partnership with France.
