Sebi probes financial irregularities at Gensol Engineering, bars Jaggis; halts stock split.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) recently revealed findings of alleged financial irregularities at Gensol Engineering, shedding light on the absence of manufacturing operations at its electric vehicle (EV) plant despite significant announcements. Sebi’s investigation exposed discrepancies in pre-orders, questionable transactions, and instances of fund diversion by the company’s promoter directors, Anmol and Puneet Singh Jaggi. In response to these revelations, Sebi has imposed a ban on Gensol Engineering and the Jaggi brothers from participating in the securities market. Additionally, the regulatory body has instructed a suspension of the planned stock split. The developments highlight the importance of regulatory oversight in maintaining transparency and accountability within India’s financial sector.
