Amitabh Bachchan turns 84 as fans and film stars send wishes

Fans celebrate outside Jalsa

Amitabh Bachchan turned 84 on Sunday, October 11, with fans gathering outside his Mumbai home and colleagues sending birthday greetings. The Indian Express reported celebrations at Jalsa in Juhu, where admirers arrived with posters of his films and birthday placards.

The newspaper described a circulating video showing one fan dressed as Bachchan and dancing to a song from Don. The gathering offered a public expression of affection alongside the birthday messages publicly shared by actors and filmmakers online.

Colleagues share personal birthday messages

The Times of India reported greetings from Chiranjeevi, Suniel Shetty and music composer Himesh Reshammiya. Chiranjeevi praised Bachchan’s commitment to cinema, while Shetty described the excitement he continues to feel when meeting the actor and the lessons he takes from their interactions. Reshammiya expressed admiration and sent birthday wishes.

The report also included a greeting from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who acknowledged Bachchan’s contribution to entertainment and wished him good health. These were individual birthday messages, reflecting the writers’ admiration rather than an announcement of a new project.

The range of greetings brought together figures from films, music and public life as celebrations unfolded during the day.

More tributes from the film industry

The Indian Express also reported birthday posts from Sanjay Dutt, Farah Khan and Ajay Devgn. Dutt thanked Bachchan for his affection and described the honour of working with him. Farah shared a selfie with the actor on Instagram.

Devgn accompanied his message with a photograph of a conversation with Bachchan, praising the energy he continues to bring despite being a senior figure in the industry.
