INDIA bloc announces October 12 Delhi march over electoral dispute
Congress calls for an October 12 Delhi march and a memorandum to the Chief Justice, while Telangana leaders are asked to join the mobilisation.
Congress calls for Monday mobilisation
The opposition INDIA bloc plans a protest march in Delhi on Monday, October 12, as Congress continues its demand for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s removal. NDTV reported that Congress leader K C Venugopal appealed to alliance parties, their workers and concerned citizens to participate.
Venugopal said senior opposition leaders would submit a memorandum to the Chief Justice of India seeking intervention. His announcement described preparations involving leaders from different parties. It sets out the alliance’s intended next step in its campaign over electoral-roll revision and alleged irregularities; the allegations remain the opposition’s claims.

A separate PTI report carried by The Economic Times said Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had invited party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and district unit presidents to attend the October 12 protest. Chairpersons of state-run corporations were also asked to participate, the report said, citing Congress sources.
The Hyderabad dispatch corroborated the Monday demonstration plan. It reported that Venugopal, speaking to reporters in Alappuzha, had described the mobilisation as part of the opposition’s continuing campaign concerning voting rights and had stated an intention to meet the Chief Justice on Monday.

NDTV also recalled the Election Commission’s response to the wider dispute: the poll body had said its decisions over the previous year were unanimous, and that different views could arise during institutional deliberations. Opposition leaders had met President Droupadi Murmu on Friday to raise their concerns.
The announced memorandum is an opposition initiative. These reports establish a planned protest and outreach to institutions; they do not announce a court decision accepting the opposition’s allegations.
