What Kanika Kapoor announced
Kanika Kapoor has announced that she and businessman Gautam Hathiramani are separating, more than four years after their wedding. The Bollywood playback singer shared the decision through an Instagram Story on November 3, according to reports published by The Indian Express and Bollywood Hungama on November 4.
Her message said the decision followed careful consideration. She expressed appreciation for the time they had spent together, wished Gautam well and asked friends, family and followers to respect their privacy. The announcement confirms their decision to part ways; it does not set out a timetable for their next steps.

Kanika and Gautam married in London in May 2022. NDTV dates the ceremony to May 20 and reports that they had known each other for nearly 15 years before their friendship developed into a relationship.
It was Kanika’s second marriage. She has three children from her earlier marriage, which ended in 2012. After that separation, she returned to India to pursue her career in music, NDTV reports.
NDTV also recalled Kanika’s earlier account of asking Gautam to marry her in 2014 and again in 2020. Gautam later proposed in August 2021, ahead of their London ceremony the following year.

Kanika became widely recognised in Hindi cinema through Baby Doll from the 2014 film Ragini MMS 2. The song was composed by Meet Bros. She also sang Lovely for Happy New Year, the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone film, that year.
Her playback credits also include Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan from Roy, Desi Look from Ek Paheli Leela and Da Da Dasse from Udta Punjab, as noted by NDTV.
