A housing society divided
The new ZEE5 trailer for Last Man in Tower puts a redevelopment dispute at the centre of a neighbourhood drama. Released on November 3, the preview introduces Manoj Bajpayee as Yogesh Mishra, a retired physics teacher unwilling to leave his Mumbai apartment when the other residents accept a lucrative proposal.
Moneycontrol’s trailer report describes how that refusal changes his relationship with the society. Neighbours who regard redevelopment as an opportunity begin to see Yogesh as the person preventing it. The disagreement is presented as a conflict between his attachment to home and the community’s hopes for a different future.
[1][2]Boman Irani and Divya Dutta shape the conflict
Boman Irani plays Dharmen Shah, the developer trying to advance the project. Divya Dutta appears as Sangita Puri, whose hopes of securing a better life for her son bring her into conflict with Yogesh. Together, the characters give the redevelopment argument competing personal stakes, rather than a single shared understanding of progress.
The cast and premise are also described in Filmfare’s November 3 report. Bollywood Hungama’s accompanying coverage records Bajpayee’s interest in Yogesh’s ambiguity: the character’s determination does not settle the question of whether his choices are right. These are the film’s advertised themes, rather than a verdict on the finished drama.
[1][2][3]A novel adaptation ahead of streaming
Ben Rekhi directs the adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s novel, with a screenplay by Sooni Taraporevala. Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media is behind the production. The film is scheduled to premiere on ZEE5 on November 6, 2026.
The fresh development is the November 3 streaming trailer. The premiere date provides the viewing context for that preview; it should not be mistaken for a newly changed release schedule. The trailer’s central question remains how far one resident will stand apart when the rest of his society chooses to move on.
