What has the Eetha team released?
The official trailer of Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha was released on Friday, October 30. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the musical drama is scheduled to open in cinemas on December 4, 2026, Cinema Express and Hindustan Times report.
Kapoor plays the central performer in a story drawing inspiration from Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, known for her work in Maharashtra’s Tamasha and Lavani traditions. The trailer moves between the artist’s public life on stage and the difficulties she faces in her personal relationships and career.
[1][2]What does the trailer show?
Cinema Express describes glimpses of several stages in the protagonist’s life, including moments of anger and encouragement from people around her. The footage presents her determination to keep performing despite setbacks. These are scenes from the drama, rather than documentary evidence of the real performer’s life.
Hindustan Times highlights the trailer’s treatment of betrayal, heartbreak and the struggle to build a reputation. An exchange about the nauvari saree links the character’s clothing to Marathi identity. Together, the scenes establish performance and cultural pride as central elements of the film’s portrayal.
In comments carried by Hindustan Times, Kapoor said that hearing Utekar explain the character helped her connect with that world. She also described the project as a reunion with Maddock Films after the Stree films.
