Tiger Shroff safe after shots fired at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu

Tiger Shroff is safe after firing at his car in Juhu. His driver was injured, a minister said, as police examine an unverified claim of responsibility.

Tiger Shroff is safe after Juhu firing

Tiger Shroff escaped without injury after unidentified assailants fired at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu on Sunday evening, October 18, according to The Indian Express. His driver was injured in the incident, Maharashtra minister Ashish Shelar told the newspaper. Police were investigating the attack and claims of gang involvement.

The reported location was Pushpa Park. Shroff was returning after a football match, and a crowd had gathered to see him when the car came under fire, the newspaper reported. The account places the incident during his journey home from football.

Investigators examine a claim of responsibility

A separate report by The Times of India described a social-media message attributed to Anil Pandit that named Harman Sandhu and claimed responsibility in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi group. The newspaper said authorities were checking whether the post was authentic.

The message also carried threats against members of the film industry, including people working with Salman Khan, according to that report. Those statements are claims made in a purported message. They do not establish who fired the shots, who organised the attack, or a verified motive. The Indian Express likewise reported that police were probing the alleged gang connection.

The distinction matters as the investigation develops: a public claim of responsibility is evidence for investigators to assess, rather than confirmation that the people named in it committed the crime.

Police inquiry and official response

Shelar said he had spoken to Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti and that Joint Commissioner of Police for Law and Order Manoj Sharma was at the location examining the incident, The Indian Express reported.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde condemned the firing and promised action against those responsible. Congress politician Sachin Sawant separately criticised the state government’s handling of public safety. These political responses accompanied an ongoing inquiry; they did not resolve the identity of the attackers or the circumstances behind the firing.
