Instances of incorrect toll fee deductions from FASTag wallets have come to light, with toll operators mistakenly entering wrong vehicle numbers. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken strict action against toll collectors in 250 instances, levying fines of Rs 1 lakh for each offense. This crackdown has led to a 70% decrease in such incidents, with continued inquiries and reimbursements for confirmed erroneous deductions.
