MLA and associates booked for assault on congress member in Mangaluru incident

The Kankanady Town police in India have recently lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against MLA D Vedavyasa Kamath following accusations of inciting an assault on Yashavantha Prabhu, a member of the Congress party. The incident reportedly occurred after a heated exchange regarding remarks made during a temple gathering. Prabhu, who is presently receiving medical treatment in a hospital, alleges that he was subjected to physical violence by Kamath’s supporters. The situation has escalated with a dual legal response, with Prabhu filing a police report and Kamath submitting a counter-allegation, claiming prejudice based on caste. The case has sparked significant attention and raised concerns about political tensions and violence in the region.
