Kannada actress Ranya Rao has been apprehended at Bengaluru airport on charges of smuggling gold and cash worth Rs 17.3 crore. Ranya, who is the daughter of Karnataka DGP K Ramachandra Rao, was caught with gold concealed on her person. Subsequent searches at her residence unveiled a cache of high-end gold jewelry and a substantial sum of cash. Authorities are now broadening their inquiry to include a renowned jewelry store in Bengaluru as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.
