Nearly 300 Indian nationals have been brought back to India via Thailand after being rescued from fraudulent call centers in Myanmar. The crackdown on these scam centers, which are predominantly run by Chinese operators, has resulted in the liberation of approximately 7,000 workers. India utilized a C-17 aircraft for the repatriation process, with plans for additional flights in the near future. These centers are known for exploiting foreign workers in various online scams. In stark contrast to India’s welcoming approach, China has reportedly treated its repatriated citizens as potential criminal offenders. The rescue and repatriation efforts highlight the importance of safeguarding overseas workers from exploitation and fraud.
