In Bengaluru, an electrician named Lakshman has been apprehended on charges of murdering a 50-year-old woman, identified as D Mary, in order to steal her gold ornaments valued at Rs 4 lakh. The crime was committed as per reports in an attempt to replicate a plot from a Kannada movie wherein he disposed of the victim’s body in a dumpyard to eliminate evidence. Authorities were able to trace Lakshman’s whereabouts through his phone records, which ultimately led to his admission of guilt and the retrieval of the victim’s skeletal remains. The arrest sheds light on the alarming rise of crimes motivated by material greed and highlights the importance of efficient law enforcement in cracking down on such heinous acts.
